The basement of my 1950s house needed repairs and a bit of a facelift. Along with patching holes in the drop ceiling and shoring up drooping ceiling tiles, A Master’s Hands also painted all the ceilings, giving a fresh look to the basement without the expense of replacing all the ceiling tiles. Jim and his team transformed a dingy basement bathroom into a first-class bathroom - one which I’m pleased to show off. This was more involved than any of us anticipated, but AMH stuck to it and persevered. The tile work is superb! There was some unexpected work to connect the shower drain pipes; Jim not only connected the new drain, but also set it up so that if replacement or any work needs to be done in the future it can be done easily. The old basement workshop also got a transformation by adding cabinet doors to the storage shelves, and framing/drywalling over the concrete wall. The transformation was amazing, making that room more useable.
Upstairs, GFI outlets were installed in the bathrooms and kitchen to bring those areas up to code. Because I’m concerned about unnecessary water usage, the new toilet installed in the basement bath was a low-flow toilet, and AMH converted both upstairs toilets with dual-flush options. The pop-up drains in both upstairs bathroom sinks were beginning to show rust, leading me to believe the sinks might need replacement. Once Jim dug into things, it took a bit of elbow grease to clean up the porcelain but all we needed to do was replace the faucets.
All of the associates from A Master’s Hands who worked on this job were courteous and professional. I was impressed with the detailed proposal and ongoing communication throughout the job process. Jim always was willing to talk through any issues encountered and to share his knowledge. To avoid needlessly adding to the landfills, we were of a similar mindset to repair, replacing items only when necessary.
I’m already creating a new list for AMH!

Jim, thank you for coming to our rescue with our unexpected shower repair. Water leaks are a scary thing, but you and Robert jumped right on our problem, discovered the issue and solved it for us! We are so happy to have our shower back, and we can't even tell that the tiles had been torn out and replaced with new ones. Great job! We'd recommend A Master's Hands to anyone.
– M. Boschen, Denver, CO
Jim – Thank you again for your patience in answering my many phone calls and questions. I wouldn’t think of calling any other handyman service but yours. Happy Holidays!
– L. Guyman, Denver, CO
Hey Jim, just a quick note to thank you and your team again for fixing my outdoor water spout last month. The guy was great and did a wonderful job. I wanted to let you know I appreciated the great work and I want to make sure I take care of the bill in a timely fashion. Have a great weekend.
– K. Sladovnik, Littleton, CO
The stairs you built are great – good job. We can’t believe the difference! Thanks again!

We have known Jim for over five years and knew he had excellent skills
and experience and that we could trust him fully to work in our home
when we weren't there. When our list of "honey-do's" around the house
reached our limit, we knew we'd never get caught up. Having known Jim
these last 5 years, we completely trusted his integrity. We wanted the
whole interior repainted; several light fixtures replaced; an entry
door repaired and our son's broken bedframe fixed; all the carpets
cleaned; windows, sinks and toilets repaired; weeds pulled; and much
more. So, we called A Master's Hands to come help us get caught up! We
were very impressed with the quality of work and Jim's work ethic.
We're so thankful and now we can now enjoy our home much more. What a
blessing!
- P. Keller, Littleton, CO
I thought that my carpets would never come clean after I'd hosted dozens
of foreign exchange students in my home and the inevitable spills and
stains occurred over many years. The carpeted stairs were the worst! I
knew Jim from a Bible study group, and he'd been in my home and seen
the carpet. Although he didn't promise he could get everything out, I
was simply amazed at the results! In less than a full day he cleaned
the carpet in all three levels of my home (including four bedrooms),
and got out almost every stained and soiled area including the worst
rust stains I've ever seen. The horribly soiled carpet on the stairs to
the lower level now looks practically new again! Thanks to A Master's Hands I'm thrilled with how everything looks!

After moving into our new home we discovered several problems, and I
needed a handyman service to get them resolved quickly. The front entry
door had sagged and no longer aligned properly with the jamb, such that
my children couldn’t lock or unlock the door – a safety issue, as well
as an inconvenience. I also needed to split a countertop into two
sections to better accommodate our room layout and furniture, and our
master bath needed to be re–caulked. I contacted A Master's Hands, and
Jim came out the same day to provide a free written estimate. The next
Monday he was back and completed all of the work to my satisfaction. He
re-set the strike plates for both the main door lock and the deadbolt,
so my children can now easily open, close and lock the front door –
what a blessing. I'll definitely be telling others about A Master's Hands and calling Jim to do other work around our home!
- F. Loerincs, Littleton, CO
We had a rotted out post, badly in need of replacement, which was
supporting an elevated deck cantilevered off of the side of our house.
Also, there were some split and rotted trim boards and railing boards
which needed replacing on the same deck. After some disassembly, we
discovered that some of the substructure in the deck walls was badly
rotted as well. Jim found a way to extract the rotted portions of the
internal structure and replace them without affecting the overall
structural integrity of the deck and completed all of the repairs in
one day. I can personally vouch for Jim's integrity, diligence and work
ethic and will not hesitate to call on him again in the future.
– J. Herwig, Littleton, CO
I hired Jim to put in a new patio door recently. He was very efficient.
He came on time and did a very good job replacing the door. I would
recommend him. His price is reasonable and well deserved.
– R. Lopez, Littleton
Jim replaced our kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal. Although we
thought we had gotten all the needed materials, a few surprises turned
up with fitting the sink into the hole, changing the plumbing below the
sink, and reconfiguring the water inlet lines. Jim had the know-how to
tackle each problem. He was very thorough in removing the old sink,
making sure he did not damage the countertop, placing the new sink and
fixtures exactly in the right place, and cleaning the area. We are so
thrilled with our new sink!
– L. Crockett, Lakewood, CO
"A Master's Hands" is simply the best home handyman service around. They
completed a wide range of projects for us. It was great having a
quality, "one-stop shop" to get so many problem areas taken care of
around the house. Among other things, they: replaced leaky, broken
plumbing valves under the kitchen sink; performed a drywall ceiling
repair in our bedroom; tore a water-damaged bathroom wall down to the
studs, installed new backer-board, and replaced the tile like new;
reset our entry-door hinges and strike plates to fix a settling issue;
replaced rotten eves and gutter downspouts on two sides of the house;
replaced a damaged section of our garage door; and ran new plumbing for
our sump-pump drain. Jim began by sending us a detailed estimate. He
always accommodated our schedule and spent extra time at the end of
several days making sure the job was wrapped up to our satisfaction.
Jim let us know whenever he was uncomfortable with a particular aspect
of the job and would readily suggest less expensive alternatives when
they were available. He was happy to let us take care of obtaining the
materials and handling the simpler aspects of the job in order to keep
our overall expenses down. The quality of the work and the speed with
which it was completed were both excellent. We could not be happier
with the results! In a word -- HONOR. They consistently placed our
needs and concerns above their own in fulfilling their commitment to
us. This is indeed a rare company, one which stands out in a
marketplace full of self-serving enterprises.
– John & Carrie, Denver, CO
Dear Jim, Thank you so much for your work on our fence. Your diligence
and attention to detail made it worth every penny. May God bless all
you put your hands to!
– The Guthries, Aurora, CO
Jim – Many thanks for your help with my roof!
– M. Krucas, Lakewood, CO
We have a rental property that needed some drywall repair. I found that A Master's Hands had the best rates around and they were flexible in scheduling a time. They came out to patch a large hole and other areas that had water damage. I wasn't perfectly happy with how it looked the first time, but I understand that drywall texture can be a challenging thing to match. They came back and worked the texture until I was totally satisfied. I'm a perfectionist and very hard to please when it comes to things like this, but they were very happy to make it right. Knowing that they go out of their way to make sure the customer is happy means a lot to me. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs some work done and would use them again for any future project.
– J. West, Aurora, CO
Jim came out to provide safety grab bars in both bathrooms. I have been in my condo for nearly two years and have been concerned there was nothing to hold onto in the shower and bath. Jim completed this job in one morning and also added a peep-hole for the front door so I might know who is calling. I was very pleased with Jim's service and will be calling on him again.
– D. Behlen, Littleton, CO
Thank you so much Jim - your thorough attention to detail certainly reflects a high level of care and quality which you approach your work. Thanks Jim - we really appreciate it. We will be telling everyone we know about you! Thanks again!

With my total knee replacement and other mobility problems, it became
increasingly difficult to enter the house with my walker via the door
from my garage, due to the high, narrow steps. A Master's Hands
designed and built set of wide custom steps with lower height for each
riser and a deeper area on which I can stand and rest as I take each
step. They attached the new stairs solidly to my house so they can't
move, and also painted them with a special sanded-paint coating so I
always have good traction and can't easily slip. They also attached
handicap-style grab-bars and handrails to the walls in my bathroom, so
now I have extra places to hold onto when using the toilet or shower.
What a blessing it was to get all of these improvements installed, and
so quickly! Many thanks, Jim!

As a Denver area Realtor, I know how important it is to have homes in "showroom condition" when they are offered for sale. Typically, this involves coordinating and scheduling the activities of a multitude of tradesmen. I found that Jim was not only capable of performing a wide variety of tasks, but that he did so in a professional manner at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Jim to anyone who is contemplating a house sale, or for simply taking care of all those jobs which tend to accumulate over time. Best of all, Jim is very pleasant to deal with, and completes assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
– J. Papantonio, Cherry Creek, CO
We called Jim when our other handyman stopped responding to our calls. We had
several projects that needed to be completed. Jim sent someone to us that day to assess
the projects and give us an idea of how long it would take to complete them. The work was done in record time and to our satisfaction. Several items on the project list were furniture pieces with slight to heavy scratch damage on them. I had received an estimate from someone else for $699 to make these furniture repairs. The pieces look fantastic and were repaired for less than 1/3 the cost of the other estimate.
– R. Thompson, Castle Rock, CO
Jim – thank you for the excellent work and your professional service. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I look forward to working with your business again soon!
– S. McCann, Arvada, CO
Jim – You guys did a WONDERFUL job. Great work, I am so pleased. I will let you know when Phase II can begin …as soon as the tile and carpeting comes in. Thanks again.
– G. Rhoades, Lakewood, CO
In an age of many complaints about home repairs, having the services of you and your crew for a couple of days was much more than just a breath of fresh air; it was a rewarding and life-building experience. Although faced with a difficult situation and under the gun from an anxious homeowner, your quick, thorough, professional and economic assistance was very much appreciated. It was a rare pleasure to meet with you and observe first-hand the kind and careful attention our property received. May God truly bless you and your crew in your endeavors.
– N. & S. Winterowd, Centennial, CO
Hi Jim, I just wanted to send you a note that Robert did a great job installing everything and making sure things were set in the proper place. I know he had trouble installing one of the white boards because there was concrete and rebar, but he still did a fantastic job and besides that, I think it went well. Thanks again for working with us and I’ll look for an invoice from you soon. Please let me know if you need anything else.
Many Thanks.
– C. Ferber, Protiro, Denver, CO
Jim Bartlett and his team have completed many and varied projects around our house, including assembly of a large playset, installation of garbage disposal, sinks and faucets, sprinkler repairs, and others too numerous to mention. I cannot overestimate the importance of a good, reliable, honest handyman, and we feel lucky to have his help on our home repairs. We have been very pleased with his work and, equally important, his professionalism, competence, and friendly manner. In fact, the word 'no' is not in Jim's vocabulary – he tackles each request and gets it done timely and right every time. Rates are very reasonable for the quality of service. In sum, we highly recommend A Master’s Hands for all handyman and home improvement needs
– I. Guertin, Littleton, CO
Jim – One of your handymen, Jim S., came by today. I just wanted to say wow! Great job, nice friendly employee. Thank you for your expertise!
– M. Owens, Denver, CO
Tim did a great job, and our master shower looks so much better in particular. He also called to confirm arrival time, showed up when expected, and was just a generally nice guy in doing the work for us. Thanks again for checking on our satisfaction, Jim. We will certainly use the services of your company again.
– L. Poplawski, Littleton, CO
Having never hired a handyman service before, I wasn't sure what to expect. I generated a "to do" list including everything from roofing and plumbing to landscaping and sprinkler blowout. I figured they'd get about half way through the list. Imagine my surprise when A Master's Hands not only addressed every item but also offered to do additional work. Although I was concerned about the hourly rates, I was pleasantly surprised that their prices were fair and reasonable given the labor-intensive tasks involved. I really appreciated the hard work and professionalism from the guys doing the job! And, they even cleaned the windows! Thank you so much!
– The DeRocher Family, Littleton, CO
We used A Master's Hands again, this time for a toilet leak that had been occurring in one of our rental properties. It had been there awhile and required tearing up the floor, removing the rotted wood, rebuilding, re-tiling, and resetting a new toilet. We called them last minute and Jim was able to organize his crew quickly enough to get the work done in 3 days from the time we called, while our renter was still on vacation. The job was executed perfectly and totally fulfilled our expectations – AND at a price that is VERY fair and below any other competitor out there. I would recommend these guys anytime!
– J. West, Denver, CO
Jim, I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you and Robert for getting everything handled today at the house and taken care of. Thanks for your flexibility of being able to move the work day from yesterday to today. I will look for the invoice and report tonight, and appreciate you being able to get that to me on the same day. Thanks again!
– J. Gilliam, Castle Rock, CO
I recently hired A Master's Hands for some plumbing work. The rates were reasonable and the owner was very friendly, patient and thorough - answering all my questions before I contracted work. And believe me, I had a number of questions. The pricing quoted on the phone was equal to the final invoice – i.e. no surprises. The handyman that did the actual install for me was also professional and thorough. I'm very pleased with "A Master's Hands" and will utilize them for any handyman services I might need in the future.
